System Requirements

NetScrape requires a rich, loamy soil and plenty of light... no... wait... that was something else. NetScrape requires Mac OS X 10.3 (Panther) or higher.

Version 1.7 added a hardware requirement for use of the new slide show feature - an ATI Radeon or NVidia GeForce card is required for proper viewing (the application will warn you if your card cannot support the 3D effects). Support for older hardware (still a lot of those fruit iMacs like mine out there!) will be added in the next version. Note that everything but the slide show still works just fine on older hardware.

NetScrape uses some of the underlying UNIXness of Mac OS X to accomplish some of its magic. If you did not install the "BSD subsystem", or have modified the layout of the BSD subsystem, you may encounter problems running NetScrape.

NetScrape makes use of a network connection to do its work. It will not work if you are not connected to the Internet.

Geek Info

NetScrape was built using Apple's Cocoa Frameworks. It is a multi-threaded application (one thread for the UI, one for the parser, and multiple threads fetching images) and has a flexible user interface. I had a lot of fun making it and look forward to making improvements!
